Our Mission Statement
We are a registered charity, founded in June 1983, run by kidney patients on a purely voluntary basis and funded entirely by donations, fundraising events and the selling of merchandise.  All the funds we raise are used for the benefit of kidney patients and their families, and include the financing of an amenity fund that provides for patients in need.

Our aim is to promote the welfare of people receiving treatment for kidney disease or illness and to provide support and advice for them and their relatives.

We campaign to improve facilities and increase public awareness of issues affecting kidney patients, particularly the need for transplants.  We give lectures to interested groups, including hospital staff and we work with other organisations interested in renal disease and its treatment, such as the National Kidney Federation of which we are a member.
We have over seven hundred members throughout the North West of England, representing the interests of patients from hospital renal units. We include relatives, friends and hospital staff among our membership.

We publish four, free newsletters every year, each issue having a print run of around 1600 copies.  The newsletters are sent to our North West members, other interested parties in the UK, hospital renal units, Members of Parliament and some overseas interested parties.

Our funds supply hospital renal units with items of equipment that are not supplied as a statutory provision.

We hold an Annual General Meeting and send representatives from both our committee and membership to attend conferences that are related to renal disease.
